Terms of Use
Last updated 1 September 2026
These terms cover your use of peripatetical.com, including the CloudMonitor early-access page and its waitlist. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please stop using it — nothing here requires an account, so leaving costs you nothing.
If you are a paying customer, these are not your terms. Each product has its own, presented before you subscribe, and those are the ones that govern what you bought. The legal index says which document covers what.
What this site currently is
An information page about software that is not yet available, plus a form for registering interest. There is no product to use, no account to create, and nothing to buy. Descriptions of CloudMonitor describe what it is being built to do, not a service you can rely on today.
When CloudMonitor does open, it will have its own terms covering the actual service — availability, your data, your cloud credentials, support, and payment. Those terms will be presented before you can sign up. Nothing on this page is a commitment to provide the service, to any particular date, or to any particular feature.
The waitlist
Joining commits neither of us to anything:
- You are not buying anything and owe nothing.
- I am not obliged to grant you access, in any timeframe or at all.
- Access may be limited, staged, or offered to some people and not others.
- You can leave at any time by emailing me. See the Privacy Policy for what is stored and how to have it deleted.
Please submit your own email address. Adding someone else's is unfair to them and I will delete it.
Pricing shown here
The pricing on the CloudMonitor page is indicative and not an offer. Nothing is billable, no price has been charged to anyone, and the figures may change before launch. It is published so the eventual cost is not a surprise, not so it can be relied upon. A binding price will be the one shown at checkout, under the service terms in force at that time.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- submit automated, bulk, or deliberately false entries, or otherwise abuse the form;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or systems behind it, or probe or test their security without written permission;
- use the site to break the law, infringe rights, or harm others;
- scrape or systematically copy the site's content for republication.
The waitlist form is rate-limited and filters obvious automation. If you have a genuine reason to test the site, email me first and I will almost certainly say yes.
Content and intellectual property
The text, design, and code of this site belong to me, except where stated otherwise. You may read it, link to it, and quote reasonable extracts with attribution. You may not republish it wholesale or present it as your own. "Peripatetical" and "CloudMonitor" are used as the names of this project and its software.
Links elsewhere
The site links to third-party destinations such as GitHub. I do not control them and am not responsible for their content or their handling of your data. Their terms and privacy policies apply once you leave.
No warranty
The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. I do not promise it will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and I may change or withdraw any part of it at any time without notice. Information here may be incomplete or become out of date.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business, arising from your use of this site. Because the site is free and provides no service, my total liability for any claim connected with it is limited to one hundred United States dollars (US$100).
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of protections that the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you.
Changes
These terms may change; the date above will change with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
